Adventure Playground 2

Andy Frost 2004

When it came time to demolish the much-loved old playground at Grizedale's visitor centre, the only thing that would prevent a riot (well, perhaps not a riot, but definitely some strongly-worded letters to Cumbria Life) was to have the replacement made by Andy Frost, the artist responsible for the original. Fortunately, the folks at Grizedale had the foresight to give Andy a call, resulting in an excellent play area that is a worthy successor to the old one. No pheasant slide, though, but we can't have everything.

Since furtively snapping shots of other people's offspring at play isn't perhaps the best activity to be caught doing, I took the above picture at about eight in the morning. Rest assured though, the place is usually teeming with kids who seem to love it - I know mine do.
