'Meridian Owl' is located just west of the main road, down near the bottom of the forest, on a patch of elevated ground by the side of a meadow. It sits on a stone plinth and although it is looking a little mossy these days, it has lost none of its charm. The location was important to its maker, French sculptor Zoe De L'Isle Whittier, as she describes:
"As we move through the woods, unseen birds and animals watch us.
Early one morning, the ground covered in frost, Ash leaves fell all around me as I carved my stone. I picked one up and drew it on the stone's side.
This sculpture beckons one silently to the place where I feel a sense of calm."
