Touchstone
Gregory Scott-Gurner 1998
How Gregory Scott-Gurner found this rock I'll never know, as it is nestled away in the trees, some distance from the forest road on the way up to Bogle Crag. It was to become 'Touchstone' in 1998 when Gurner coated it in a majestic gold paint, the type of colour that your local DIY shop would probably refer to as 'Midas Shimmer' or something similar. I've only seen this a couple of times and due to the lack of natural light in this particular patch of the forest, my attempts to photograph it have ranged from optimistic to terrible. As a result, I've stolen this one from a postcard I found.
