Logpile Bridge

This charming bridge could be found on the Millwood Trail for about fifteen years or so, just around the corner from Kennels Road. Jim Partridge describes the piece:

"...made from oak that had been felled and left by the forestry to clear space for softwood planting. When we found it, the bark and softwood had rotted off, leaving seasoned oak heartwood for our stacked and nailed construction."

I remember being very young and thinking I could fit under this bridge, before getting halfway and realising I had made a grave mistake. In around 2005, Jim and Liz's bridge was replaced by a regular one.
