Very much a part of Grizedale Arts' attempts to bring the sculpture project bang up to date, 'Within These Four Walls' was placed right at the start of the Ridding wood Trail. Clare Goodwin is now based in Zurich, but in 1999 was at the forefront of Adam Sutherland's modernist movement, creating a piece which looked like little more than a box from the outside, but upon stepping through the doorway, you were greeted with colourful abstract artwork on all sides.

Although jarring to look at from the outside with its chipboard exterior, it was in fact a lively and interesting piece, and provided some variety for the sculpture-rich Ridding Wood walk.
