Inside Out
Johannes Bludau 1994
Another strange example of Bludau's ability to distort nature in weird and wonderful ways, 'Inside Out' was, as the name suggests, a tree trunk which had been turned inside out. It's quite hard to describe without a picture, so thank goodness I've got one.
Occasionally called 'Inside Outside', it wasn't always officially recognised by the maps - after a couple of years it stopped appearing on the list of sculptures altogether, but it stuck around in situ for a few years beyond that, in its quiet spot just off the Millwood Trail, across the river from the Kennels Road car park, roughly where we now find Tree Pole.
